Hola, Game Development is a pro job, and there are no good tutorials (Specially basic ones) over the internet, will be so much beneficial to have a tutsplus site providing tutorials for Game Developers.

    • http://tutscode.com/ Bayu

      agree !!

    • http://www.karaboseipelo.co.za Karabo

I agree, there aren’t any good game dev tutorials. ActiveTut+ has some but I feel that area needs to be explored more.

    • http://www.henryhoffman.com Henry Hoffman

+1 for GameDevTuts+. I’d be interested in writing for that too.

    • http://www.knowledgesalad.com Rean

A thousand times this. I’ve been in search for lots of game dev tuts out there but only few are current, or maintained.

    • http://www.venture-ware.com/kevin Kevin Jensen

      I could not agree more.

    • http://www.villagranstudio.com Leandro

I was undecided between business and science then I saw that you guys are planning on gametuts so I believe this would be great as a lot of developers have become good business owners specially since the lunch of iOS products and there is always science and some math behind good games ergo two thumbs up for Gametuts :D

    • Mazznoer

      Like it…

    • http://nickp.co Nick Pfisterer

I too would like to show my support for GameDevTuts+. I have 5+ years of experience working with several game engines and tools and I’d love to write for GameDevTuts+ in the future! Please feel free to contact me. Love what you guys do at Envato. :)

  • http://www.toxicdesign.co.za james Fosker

I voted for freelance tut but I really think business and writing would be quite good.

  • Martin Martev

Game dev, think it’s more in line with the user base :)

    • http://meta-blogger.com Michael

agreed, and like others have said you kinda need to cover math, tech and science under game dev

  • http://chantalcoolsma.nl Chantal

Photographytuts+. A site about Photography and how to do things etc etc

    • http://wp.envato.com/ Japh Thomson
      Staff

Hey Chantal! Have you checked out our sister site http://photo.tutsplus.com/ at all? Definitely worth a look on the photography side :)

  • Jakub Kohout

jQuerytuts+ would be very nice :)

    • http://wp.envato.com/ Japh Thomson
      Staff

Hi Jakub, you might like to check out our sister site Nettuts+, which does have a few jQuery tutorials: http://net.tutsplus.com/tag/jquery/

  • http://dockstudio.net/ Ale Gadpen

Although I think GameDevTuts+ would be nice to have around. I’m thinking something like AbstractedTuts+. The main idea is to give designers and developers tuts to develop lateral-thinking, out-of-the-box thinking and improving then their ability to solve problems. This is not by just giving ‘snippets’ or how you need to do this thing, but actually helping people to develop this quality, that really lacking in this niche. Not to long ago I was in a meeting with another developer (although I don’t know if to call him that) and he had no other way to solve developing-problems but to Google it and try snippet after snippet after snippet!!

By the way… this is an awesome site!! Thanks for all the effort put in all the TUTS+ Network!! =)

  • http://www.erubai.com Fardeem Munir

I prefer Gamedev tuts+ since there are not much tutorials on game development. Also most are very advanced or is a scam. To get game development tutorials from a source like tutsplus premium will be AWESOME!

  • http://www.ilduca69.it Salvatore Quartararo

Printuts+ all about InDesign Quark XPress Acrobat with focus in electronic books
    (ebook ePub etc.)

    • Martin

      +1!

    • Christine Holzmann

I second what Salvatore said: “Printuts+ all about InDesign Quark XPress Acrobat with focus in electronic books” (ebook ePub etc.)” Perhaps it could be “Publishtuts+” focusing on digital publishing…this is a whole world in itself and tutorials along these lines could be invaluable for everyone…. how to publish for all the different media out there, using InDesign, Quark, Acrobat, etc.

    • NakkiNyan

Well, I already voted so I can’t add another vote but I officially third this! It would be helpful since e-books are often quite bad.

    • http://lauralynndesigns.net Laura

+1 Agree, would love to have Print+Tuts, Indesign, Quark, etc.

  • Cosmin

I’m really looking forward to Sciencetuts+ especially because it would probably be somewhat different from the other tuts websites and I would like to see a diversification of topics covered in this great manner

  • http://www.leblogger.com Soufiane

Mactuts+ since many of your tutorials related to the Mac are very popular and all your authors and most readers use and love the Mac environment

On the other hand there’s more stuff to write about in the GameDevTuts+

    • Federico

I don´t think restricting a site focus to only MAC users would be fair. There is a great percentage of web developers working on windows or linux platforms….come on…please think globally, there are a lot of countries where you can´t even think of affording a Mac….

  • http://www.szkolenia24h.pl barat

I vote for “Other” – think about courses+

You can provide valuable courses there – just “better manuals for…”.
For example “PhpStorm”, ‘Dreamveawer”, “Github”, “Web marketing” etc.
But not like in other pages. Here You can write realy production-usable cycles. Something, what explains the workflow, the question “why to use it” etc.
It can be dividet to parts, maybe level etc.

For example I would buy membership if there will be cycle which describes the github workflow, how to use it efectively, how to work in groups – but ot theoretical, only “live examples” ;)

  • http://govertz.dk Govertz

I would like to see a Video+ site.

Video is a subjekt that have a lot of users, and there is a lot of ground to cover.

  • http://www.pauledmondson.co.uk Paul Edmondson

I love this site, and in fact the entire network that you provide. I have spent many hours glued in front of my PC learning from your sites.
I would love to see a freelance tuts addition. It is great to be a master at graphics and web packages, but I believe everyone would benefit greatly from implementing our skill sets in the most effective way.
    Sharing knowledge is key.

  • http://www.agenciabrother.com.br Robson Coutinho

    Is nuts!!

  • http://www.factor1studios.com matt adams

business tuts for sure. There are thousands of business blogs out there, but most are lacking consistency and quality that envato brings from its writers.

  • Ignacio

Mobile App Tuts. I think is a cotner that Tuts havent explore yet

    • http://wp.envato.com/ Japh Thomson
      Staff

Hey Ignacio, have you seen Mobiletuts+? http://mobile.tutsplus.com/

      • Ignacio

        OMG. Argggg. Thank you!

  • http://holmezideas.com/ Mahmoud Hassan

MathTuts plus: I really want to watch Math lessons with tuts plus style :)

    • http://none.com Curtis

      yeah, math. Something universally useful.

    • http://stephenharris.info Stephen Harris

Thank you! Someone else wants some maths tuts :).

I think it would be a great addition the tutsplus network – and could easily become a fantastic resource for informative articles on popular maths. It would be great to see it expose the role of mathematics (which is incredibly large) in modern day – from banking and finance, to the games industry and internet security. I think they’ll be a lot of interest in how mathematics is applied – and demonstrating how, is often a great tool for getting the mathematical ideas and principles across.

And OK, I am slightly biased…

  • http://arifriyanto.com Arif Riyanto

    Vote for “Sciencetuts+”

Or all of those sites will be a great tuts!

  • Nikola

    Definitely Game Development one.
I planned to start with it soon, so it would be useful.

  • Nicu

    3DTuts+ maybe:)

  • Stardoix

Why one? – You can be one of the most famous site out there, all you need is many “Tuts”-sites.
One that I would like was how to build a game – from beginner to advanced.

    /Stardoix

  • http://mmn.ro/ Dana Ni

Who knows what future brings, but Mobile Apps will definetely stick around, in our pockets. :) So apps dev tutorials, divided on platforms and in tuts+ practical style will be much appreciated. Run Forest, run! ^^

  • Beatrice

Writing. Because good writing allows me to communicate properly. It’s important in the educational field, isn’t it?

  • http://www.enemyofaverage.com Craig Lancaster

I created my own called Promotiontuts+.

I guess I would like to see tutorials on how to get more visitors to my site. This could either be online, offline promotion, seo, product launch guides, relationship building tips etc

  • http://www.abditive.in/ Jayant Tyagi

    C++Tuts+
    ServerTuts+

  • http://www.aracnofa.com.br/blog Emanuel BG

Mactuts+ with everything about Mac, tips and tricks, and suggests/reviews apps, best free apps, maintenance of Mac and more things.

  • Jack

I think you should write about internet marketing. So, Businesstuts+!
Envato writes about the internet and web design. Thanks to webdesign.tutsplus, net.tutsplus, wp.tutsplus, I know how to create a website. But you can have a beautiful website, but don’t have customers. I would like to know how to run a business on the internet. Sample topics:
-How to increase traffic to your website?
-How to choose a business model?
    -How to write sales offer?
    -Marketing strategies.
-How to write a business plan?
-How to apply for grants for startup?
-How to measure the effectiveness of ads?
    -And much, much more…

    Also +1 for Game Development.
@Mohamed Said: “Game Development is a pro job, and there are no good tutorials (Specially basic ones) over the interne”
There are good tutorials over the internet: eat3D, Digital Tutors, Gnomon Workshop, 3DBuzz, evermontion and more. But most of them are paid.

    My favorites: Businesstuts+, Gamedevtuts+, Productivitytuts+, Freelancetuts+.
Great idea Fashiontuts+. The designer, developer, or freelancer is also people. They need to know how to dress fashionably. :)

    • Christine Holzmann

Businesstuts+ IS a good idea! You could even bring Quickbooks into the mix…or perhaps even do a Quickbookstuts+ since that’s also a HUGE beast to deal with, especially when one first starts using it:)

  • Dimitry

It might also be a good idea to unite gamedev tuts with something like creative coding tuts. Such resource would be the bomb. If Envato won’t do it, I will! So watch out and get over it! :)

  • http://www.theagence.fr Nicolas

There are definitely tons of Game tutorials out there. Somehow technical but eh, that’s game dev.

I think that most of us need some productivity push up. So I voted for that.

  • Ash

Programming Language Tuts (C, C++, Python, Java etc.)

  • Hein Zaw Htet

I vote for writingtuts+. In writingtuts, you should write about Article writing, tutorials writing.

    • Sara

I thought this, too. It could cover a lot of ground, like copy writing and SEO technique.

  • http://twitter.com/Digital_Misfit Jim J

JavaTuts+ to get devs familiar with working in Putty and working with Java files with and without an IDE. That and C++/C# are widely used and it would be very useful to add Basics and for some of us to contribute quick tips we’ve learned over the years.

  • http://digiartes.net Juan

I think gamedev tuts is the logical one to follow from the list. It will be one of the few game dev sites out there, with quality material.
    Good Luck.

  • Munirah

It would be nice to have tutorial on how to craft good written words for success online and offline. Exploring all aspect of writing both for business and pleasure..

A tutorial on Business would be excellent too……..generating business ideas and implementing them successfully both online and offline..

  • simranjitsingh

guys i thing now we need a cmstuts a site with explain every secret about every cms link magento , xcart , wordpress, joomla

  • http://whysodumb.com Abhimanyu

How about AutoCad, Revit and stuff? Yes, I am an Architecture student. :P

  • http://www.rafaelarmstrong.com rcarmstrong

Hmmm… I voted for freelancetuts, but after reading in the commetns about printtuts, I thought that would be a good idea as well. #printaintdead

  • AkitaDesign

    i think Gamedevtuts+ is a good idea.

  • http://www.eclipse-webdesign.nl Vincent

I think drupal.tutsplus and ecommerce.tutsplus would be awesome

  • http://www.kylewilmarth.com Kyle

Document Composition is a huge field – this can include a number of toolsets, Exstream Dialogue, Thunderhead, XMPie, Xpresso, etc.

Also, Information Design is itself a very broad topic that could be beneficial. This could include topics ranging from Financial Statement design to Form design – overall readability & response rates.

There are several marketing resources out there, but marketing materials often lack effectiveness on the information design front. Mostly B2B related things like bills and invoices often do not have high response rates because they are hard to read or understand, leading to increased customer service calls. Most people do not think of how a bank statement or retirement fund statement is designed.

  • http://www.soldoutrun.com Clay

I’m intrigued by the idea of Fashiontuts+. It’s wildly different from your existing pantheon, so it may not make the most sense to leverage your network. I would like to know how to dress more stylishly, but any resource I’ve ever found for that seems to be a lot of fluff and artifice. I assume a more technical choice is going to be the best business decision, but I sure would like to see somebody talking about fashion in the Tuts+ style.

  • Robin

As fun as Game Development sounds, I’m hoping for Writing, Math, or Science. Those skills are useful no matter what field you’re in.

I agree with Federico though, please no platform-specific sites! (And if the Mac is so intuitive, why do you need tuts for it? :P )

  • http://www.maxbreakwell.com Max

I’d love to see Techtuts+, focussing on Arduino and building electronic gadgets.

  • http://invalidoz.com Lökis

Gametuts+ is something i want to learn more about.

  • http://twitter.com/danmrosenthal Dan Rosenthal

With the increasing recognition content strategy is recieving as a discipline, I would recommend creating a contenttuts+ (writingtuts+, if you must). This site would provide tutorials on content strategy, writing for the web, and writing for UX/UI. The web is a great looking place, but let’s fill it with great content also. After all, design is really just a vehicle for great content, or it should be.

I like the idea of SEOtuts+, so hard to find good information through all the rubbish out there. Also compliments the whole point of developing a website or design, so people can see what you have developed. Within that you could have articles on writing or SEO for the small business. The oppurtunities are endless.

  • Wes

BusinessTuts+ would be a tremendous help to many tuts+ users. Business tips, business contracts and agreements, sales tips, marketing tips, etc. All of this would fall under “businesstuts+” and would result in countless articles and reads from users. Highly sought after, hopefully it get’s picked

    • http://nathanrjones.com Nathan Jones

Agreed! I’ve got the web design & development down. All the Nettuts+ articles help a ton with that. But managing the business is often more difficult than building the websites.

    • Jessie

      I’d also love to see a BusinessTuts+. :)

  • http://www.guerillaweb.ca Louis-Philippe Dea

A Businesstuts site would be awesome! Thank you guys for asking!

  • http://www.sparkyhub.com akhil

    Voted for.Techtuts+ Nice poll:-)

  • Sara

joomlatuts+ !! I’m starting with joomla and would love to see more joomla tutorials, only a few on the net teach joomla well :/ barely!

  • http://www.mashgeek.com/ Matrix

We need productivity! Voted for Productivitytuts+!

  • http://www.twitchdub.com Marcello

    AdobeTuts+
Hi, my name is Marcello, I’m 14 years old, and I know that all of the 7 Adobe products that I use at the moment are all just fantastic! I love them all so much, and they are, by far, the most useful programs on my computer! But… oh no, there’s a missing puzzle piece, oh yeah, AdobeTuts+! I’ve always wanted to make the most of the money that I save up, so I always put it into the next new Adobe product, but how am I making the most of my money by spending it on Adobe products, when I don’t actually fully know? Well, this is the comment I’m leaving to try to win that contest, because, like normal, I would be taking my money and investing it into another month of a premium membership on tuts+, and then another month, and another, but this way, I won’t have to spend that hard earned money that I made from teaching code, like PHP and Javascript and HTML and UNIX and SQL and CSS and AJAX.

    CodeTuts+
I would really love a CodeTuts+, where you can learn all the codes like HTML, PHP, AJAX, CSS, SQL, JavaScript, jQuery, XML, VBScript, DHTML, ASP, HTML DOM, JSON, HTML5, CSS3, TCP/IP, DTD, XSL, etc. all in one big spot… “CodeTuts+.”

I would think you could gain a ton of customers bye adding those two! Well, glad to help, even though I’m only 14.

    Well, bye!

    • NakkiNyan

      Adobe tuts already exist.
      Ai, vectortuts+
      Ps, PSDtuts+
      Ae, Aetuts+

Other programs like Id, Pr, etc… are too massive and should have their own sections, Publishtuts+, Videotuts+, etc… Adobe products are too massive to include all in one tut+ section.

      The code you mentioned

Nettust+ : HTML, PHP, AJAX, CSS, SQL, JavaScript, jQuery, XML, ASP, HTML DOM, JSON, HTML5, CSS3, DHTML,

codetuts+ should be computer programming like C, C++, Cocoa, VB, Python, etc…

  • http://hware.net.tc salim

    hi ,
i think game development tuts+ website will be a very great one . i always wanted to learn how to develop a game .

  • http://walthamstowtimes.co.uk Albert

I’ll go with business tuts. I think all the other areas can use a real help on how to sell your dev skills, your dev products or anything on that list above…

  • vaibhav

I think you should launch a site focusing on video editing, which would be called a video.tutsplus.com .. i am wondered that this isn’t an option & why you haven’t thought about that yet ?

    • http://wp.envato.com/ Japh Thomson
      Staff

At the moment we do have Aetuts+, which covers a lot of video related topics

  • http://frabu.web.id Ferik

hack.tutsplus.com, about networking, it would be nice !

  • http://laranzjoe.blogspot.com lawrence77

    i voted ‘others’

dotnettuts+ which cover every bit of the dotnet framework, sqlserver, ado.net, wcf, wpf, silverlight, windows phone etc.,

I didn’t see any windows phone tuts here in mobile tuts. :(

cmstuts+ which cover every cms from wordpress, drupal, joomla, dotnetblogengine, dotnetnuke etc., :D

where is Herbtuts+ in options :D

A tutsplus forum will be awesome too

    • NakkiNyan

.net should be covered in codetuts+ so it is not restricted to just .net.

Windows phone is already represented in mobiletuts+ they just need writers so its own section under both makes no sense, it would lead to fracturing.

      SQL, ADO.net fall under nettuts+

CMS is not a bad idea but again Joomla and Drupal are in nettuts+ while wordpress in in wptuts+, maybe wp should become cms… wp alone never made sense even if there are daily posts.

  • http://www.devilsworshop.net xuwelKhan

Its really amazing news and I would like to vote for codetuts+ . Because people need real tutorial to learn php, javascript or rubi something like these.

    • http://wp.envato.com/ Japh Thomson
      Staff

Thanks! You might like to check out Nettuts+

      • http://www.devilsworshop.net xuwel Khan

Thanks Japh for your replay. Me, along with all other tutplus fans regularly visit net.tutplus. But the focus of code.tutplus should be hardcore coding likely w3schools.

  • James

Focus on the tuts+ network that you have already established. It is large and broad enough. If you are looking to expand, then you should venture into a new field, outside of the tuts+ network. Something innovative. Something that hasn’t been done before.

  • NakkiNyan

I would like a codetuts+ to learn some programming languages like C++, Java and Python. A computer programming tut+ section would really help and could give people a starting out but kinda lost in mobiletuts+ when they have no prior coding skills to debug errors.

  • Dinesh

GameDevTuts+ Would be a great idea as currently there is no site present on the web providing tutorials on building games also it can increase the creativity of devs and improve our logics and strategies making our mind more sharp while developing a game it also develops our creativity and thinking power so i voted for a GamedevTuts+ site !

  • http://www.sanjaykhemlani.com/ sanjay

I’d go with Freelance tuts, information about freelance and working / looking for freelance work. Since many of us are looking for this kind of information.

    • http://imkreative.com KreativeMente

I would think FreelanceSwitch can do that no??

  • Ashish

Security is one of major concerns these days whether its open source or custom development. I wish there would be something that will teach us practical security aspects related to opensource programs and custom tailored sites…

  • zubajw

You guys kind of have done it all… I think the only ones that make sense at this point would be Gametuts, or Mathtuts, but math specifically geared towards design and dev…

  • http://www.imkreative.com KreativeMente

I think it will be a close tie between GamedevTuts+ and MacTuts+

I side for MacTuts+ since that seems to be a much more focused site which I assume would focus on Obj C and C++ and C#.

I think if GameDevTuts+ would be focused on say, mobile games ooor Unity would be much better as there are a TON of platforms for games nowadays be it Mobile ( ios,Android), Web games ( Flash, Silverlight,Unity ) or even console like games for PS3 or Xbox. I feel like GameDevTuts+ would be a jumble of stuff sort of the way ActiveTuts+ is now.

    MacTuts+ gets my vote.

  • http://lauralynndesigns.net Laura

I voted for PrintTuts+ – would love to see more Indesign Tuts, Quark, etc. Creating Brochures, Catalogs, Books, setting up proper print documents, etc.

But I would also like to see a combination of the three below but into one site….

    FreelanceTuts+
    BussinessTuts+
    FinanceTuts+

I would love to get some Tax advice in the ”Finance” section, but we have so many that aren’t in the US, that it’s kind of difficult to write that stuff, but would like to see that.

I hesitate with FreelanceTuts+ because we have FreelanceSwitch, but usership there is dying down. I’m not sure how many find jobs there and the main attraction to the site is the Forums, but they are getting filled with spam, and so there’s not many users active. So maybe a FreelanceTuts+ would be cool.

    Another that just hit me!

SEOtuts+ – Would love to learn more on SEO!

  • http://www.lisacerilli.com Lisa

GameDev definitely needs to be covered! There are so many types of ways to create a game, and it would be awesome to learn about game specific things in one area.

  • http://affanruslan.com Affan Ruslan

I agreed with some of the folks above, gamedevtuts would be great

  • http://digitalyogis.com Szabi

    Hi!

I would like to see something like DigitalArttuts. I know you have vector and psd tuts although I think there is a lot to say about this. Also Game Dev seems to be a great idea and Freelancetuts

Thanks for the great tuts and keep up the good work!

  • http://bitsg-ieee.org Kushal Khandelwal

Freelance Tuts + would be really helpful for novice freelancers like me :)

  • Tunbosun

I would go with Gamedevtuts+. What better way to learn gane development than to do it with Gamedevtuts+ is launched.

  • Alejandro

Joomlatuts+ would be a nice idea, also a good idea is Freelancetuts+

  • http://chipmint.com Ritam Das

I think Joomlatuts+ is very needed for us..

  • jasmineko

programming expert advisor (ea) for automatic trading.

    eatuts

  • http://surefirewebservices.com Jonathan

    I’m going to go with

    Online Marketing Tuts+

Some tutorials on how to get links, seo, etc. etc.

  • blue

    LogoTuts+

Logo design is hot today, if you’ll refer vectortuts , I think that isn’t enough to learn logo design :)

  • http://alokdesai.in Alok Desai

Hi, yes definitely game development is a good option. But I also feel there should be something like:
    OS.TUTSPLUS.COM

where, there are tutorials for doing basic to advanced tasks in operating systems like:

    1. windows
    2. mac os
    3. linux distros like ubuntu, fedora, mint, etc
    4. mobile OS like, symbian, ios, android, etc

I know we have appstorm websites for windows and mac, but those are more app specific. This will be day-to-day task based and well, i hope you got the point.
I wish we can have something like this., because we do have tutorials for softwares we run on our operating systems, but if we start knowing the operating systems inside out as well, then it will definitely help make our lives easier. :D

  • Claus Hansen

+1 for game development. I’ve been interested getting into it for a long time, but having a hard time finding good tutorials. WTB Jeffrey Way quality.. Also tutorials getting indepth with the math for game development would be brillaint, I almost voted math+ just for that.

    Cheers tutsplus!

  • creativeguy

please i request you to make more and more wordpress and php tutorials such as custom theme development with wordpress which completes each and every details of how to make a custom theme from wordpress starting from scratch.

may be a psd to wordpress premium tutorial series can rock.

a custom wordpress theme from scratch can be made as a premium tutorial.

under php i would really like to see object oriented PHP concept and more and more of CAKE PHP and CodeIgniter framework along with the modern php conceptual approaches.

but wordpress should be the first priority as nowday’s the web only works on PHP and wordpress.

ASP.net is useless as it’s outdated and not good to use.

why not make a PHP and wordpress Premium tutorial series which can cover how to make a really great e-commerce website, real estate websites as well as community forum websites, etc.

it would be a great idea. even if the cost of premium tutorial is high i won’t mind at all.
